The California Dream Act allows students who meet the AB 540 criteria to apply for and receive non-state funded scholarships for public colleges and universities.  An AB 540 student is defined a student who is undocumented, has attended high school for three or more years, and has graduated from a high school in California.  Click here for

.  In the past, the AB 540 student was allowed to attended a community college, a CSU, or a UC and pay ‘in-state’ tuition but AB 540 students were not allowed to apply for financial aid.  Now  AB 540 students, with the passage of the California Dream Act, can apply for California Aid using the California Dream Act application.
