Head Coach: Ken Reeves, Boys & Girls Cross Country
Bio: Coached at the middle school, high school, community college and NCAA Division I level for 40 years. As coach at Nordhoff High School, Reeves’ teams earned 11 state championships and 14 CIF championships. Reeves was named the National High School Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000. He was inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
Philosophy: The goal is to pursue victory with honor and to learn from the successes and failures of athletics. Athletics should be an avenue to help students prepare for the life beyond high school. Thus, punctuality and responsibility will help prepare the students for the “real world.” Be responsible. Be punctual.
Most proud of: Developing the educational, social and athletic potential of young people, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone and take risks academically and athletically.

Attention all students interested in playing sports in 2018-19:
2018-19 Incoming 9th graders or transfers! If you are interested in sports at FTHS, please complete the interest form at the link below so we can contact you about summer meeting, tryouts, and programs. Check each team’s page for information on their summer program.
ATHLETE CLEARANCE: Prior to trying out for or practicing with a team, students must submit Athletic Clearance documentation, which includes a sports physical clearance dated within the past 12 months. Online clearance is now available! Begin the online clearance process at https://home.registermyathlete.com/org/CA/00509/ and use the instructions found here. If you are unable to complete clearance online, please contact the school office for a packet at 289-0023 x1016.
Sports Physicals: As part of the athletic clearance process, students must submit a Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Clearance, dated within the past year. If your physical will “expire” during the season of sport, you will need a new physical before that season begins. Sports physicals are valid for one year, therefore we highly recommend scheduling sports physicals annually either in June or August, so you will be cleared for the entire schoolyear and the summer either prior or after.
