Bio: Rouse-Becker has coached for 9 yrs, organized, staffed, participated in, and ran player and coaches clinics (14 yrs), given softball related motivational speeches (6yrs) at the recreation, high school, travel teams, and college levels. At the college level she participated in four College World Series. Won two NCAA Division II National Championships and a runner-up with CSU Northridge, and one NCAA Div I semi-finalist finish with UCLA. Six-time All American. She won a World Series Championship with the Women’s Professional Fast Pitch Orlando Wahoos in 1997. Rouse-Becker is a software engineer and CEO of Visual Concepts, a software systems and engineering firm in Ventura.
Philosophy: It’s important to cultivate a safe environment where players can bond and feel comfortable reaching beyond themselves to contribute to something greater. I feel I have done my job if each player has improved and the team was able to achieve objectives larger then any one individually.
Most proud of: Being able to coach my daughter’s recreation teams to 3 out of 4 league championships. Organized and led clinics with Olympic players as clinicians. Professional hitting coach.
Rouse-Becker is in her 2nd season as FTHS head coach. The inaugural 2014-15 season had many success including:
Third place finish in the very competitive Frontier League
Three 1st team All Frontier League awardees, Three 2nd Team All Frontier League awardees, and 2 Honorable Mentions
Won first berth into the CIF play-offs
Ranked 10th out of over 80 teams in our CIF Division

ATHLETE CLEARANCE: Prior to trying out for or practicing with a team, students must submit Athletic Clearance documentation, which includes a sports physical clearance dated within the past 12 months. NEW for the 2017-18 school year, online clearance is now available! Begin the online clearance process at https://home.registermyathlete.com/org/CA/00509/ and use the instructions found here. SPORTS PHYSICAL OPPORTUNITIES:
IMPORTANT 6/19 ATHLETICS MEETING: Incoming parents & students should attend the Summer Athletics Meeting at FTHS on Monday, June 19, 5-8pm for general info and team meetings. A new parent orientation will be from 5:45-6:30pm, followed by individual team meetings at 6:30-7:15pm and 7:15-8pm. Dinner by In-N-Out will be available for purchase 5-6:30pm, pre-order your meal today!

TRYOUTS: Students who are unable to participate in summer practices/tryouts will need to tryout when the season of sport begins; class schedule will be rearranged if they make the team at that time.
SUMMER PRACTICES: Most teams will hold summer practices/tryouts, though all sports are required to have a 3-week “dead” period during the summer. This is a good time to make vacation plans. Summer practices are not mandatory but are highly recommended and help us coordinate your initial course schedule. Fall Sports have priority during summer if times conflict.
